☀️ The Sunshine Blogger Award ☀️

I was nominated for my first award! Yay! Thank you Kara @ Bernard’s Book Blog for nominating me, and if you guys haven’t saw her blog yet – check it out! She posts amazing reviews and articles, not to mention that she’s an awesome and funny person and bloggyfriend! I’m honored to accept this award (like an Oscar), and I’m also truly glad that someone even reads these ramblings of mine. Out of all the things I expected when starting this blog, I hadn’t even anticipated that people here are so kind and welcoming, that anyone is ready to help, and that you guys will actually read my posts, so thank you all! 🙂 ❤

The rules for accepting the award are as follows:

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you
  • Nominate 11 other bloggers to receive the award and write them 11 new questions
  • Display the rules and the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post

Kara’s questions for me:

  • Do you prefer cooking or ordering in?

Hmm both! Even though I love to cook, and can cook a decent number of exquisite meals, sometimes I’m just too lazy to live, not cook. Several times I even ordered from restaurants on my street which are, like 2 minutes away.

  • Do you have any interesting hobbies?

Hmm well I draw (digitally mostly), but as that’s my job too I would have to say… reading? I’m also learning Portuguese, and I consider that a hobby since I’m not that committed haha.

  • What’s your biggest fear?

Bugs, any kind. And failure. And deep water since I can’t swim.

  • What do you do to calm yourself down when you get anxious/worried/upset?

I get anxious quite often, and if you don’t calm yourself quickly enough in my situation you can get a nasty panic attack, so I practice breathing techniques and mantras (I know this sounds kooky, but if you tell something to yourself often enough, your brain will learn to listen – I’ve learned to prevent my panic episodes).

  • What’s the most interesting place you’ve visited?

Ohh nice question Kara! It’s Zaanse Schans! It’s a small historical village near Amsterdam, Netherlands, with preserved windmills and museums. It’s colorful and beautiful, I ate the best cheese in my life there, and that’s where I bought my favorite mug. Here are some pictures:

  • If you were able to go anywhere in time and space, where/when would you go?

Aaand this is a difficult question, first because I have like 1000 answers, and second because women were treated like shit most of the time, so if I went to middle ages who knows what would happen to me, I’d probably be burned at a stake haha 🙂 I would choose Ancient Egypt because I’m obsessed with it, but preferably as some sort of noble or a maid, so I could meet Nefertiti or Hatshepsut.

At the stake! The fire will purify him
  • For book-to-movie adaptations, do you typically separate the movie version from the book to enjoy it as its own thing, or do you prefer to compare, analyze, and critique?

I do like to compare and nag about what was removed from the book version, but if I want I can separate them in my head so I enjoy both haha, that’s what I do with my favorite book-movies Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter, but I couldn’t do that with The Hobbit, just couldn’t 😦

  • Who’s your favorite superhero and why?

Hmm but I like villains :/ Heroes are boring 😀 I could list like 10 favorite bad guys, but I could go with Batman for the sake of this question. The Christian Bale Batman ofc, I know no other. And why Batman – well he doesn’t even have a superpower and he still kicks ass!

  • Would you prefer living miles underground or miles above the earth?

What kind of questions are these Kara, I’m both claustrophobic and scared of heights xD So, in the middle 😀 But out of these two – underground sounds better, as you can hide yourself there when the zombie apocalypse kicks in.

  • Good guys or bad guys?

As I said – bad guys, I don’t know, am I crazy or is there an actual appeal in villains?

  • If you could live in any fictional world, where would you live?

I think we all know the answer to this:

My totally random questions for the nominees:

  1. Name a fictional food/drink you’d love to try.
  2. Do you like animated movies? Which ones are your favorite?
  3. Who is your favorite villain and why? (book/movie/TV/etc.)
  4. Do you like to read one specific genre, or do you mix it up?
  5. Name 1-3 magical (or not) items from a book, which you’d love to own in real life.
  6. What is your favorite fantasy movie? You can list several, I’m not a monster!
  7. What is the most annoying habit you have?
  8. Name one country, one city and one historical site you’d love to visit before you die.
  9. What is your favorite fictional animal? (from a book/movie/mythology/etc.)
  10. Which do you prefer: seaside, mountains, countryside or forests?
  11. Tell us….your most embarrassing moment.

Bonus trick question (optional): Gandalf vs Dumbledore. Who wins?

P.S. I drew the sun image during an awful migraine, in a semi-hallucinatory state, with my mouse, so I apologize in advance for the ridiculousness of it.

  1. AHH! Super happy you nominated me for this award! Looking forward to answering your questions! As for your answers… I’m also scared of failure (but aren’t we all, even just a little bit?). I also prefer the bad guys over good guys, lol. Annnnd… I really wish I could draw! I have tried, and even practiced, but I just don’t have the talent. So that’s super cool that you do!! Thanks again for the award!!

    1. Anytime Frankie, I can’t wait to see your answers! 🙂 Seems we have much in common haha 😀 Noo, you don’t need to have the talent to draw, I don’t! I mean talent does help haha, but it’s 80% hard work, you just need to draw regularly and look at other people’s work, and eventually you’ll get better 🙂 As with any skill it’s just hard work 🙂

  2. I LOVE VILLAINS, TOO!!! Villains > heroes any day! And lol @ The Hobbit. I was so disappointed in those movies. I loved reading your answers! I might end up doing this one again just so I can answer your questions, haha.

  3. Awwww thanks for the tag!!! Also, let me just say, I totally agree with you about the Christian Bale Batman ( I love him). And your answer to the where would you visit in history question is awesome – I’d love to meet one of the queens of ancient Egypt! Have you ever read anything by Michelle Moran? She does great retellings(?)/historical fiction, of some of those women’s lives and I’ve loved them!

    1. Anytime Paige 🙂 Ofc, Bale is the best! 🙂 Noo I haven’t but I will! I haven’t really read any fiction books about Egypt, only encyclopaedias and history, mostly because I’ve done my diploma (high school one) on the topic of “Customs and Religion in ancient Egypt” 🙂 I’ll try some books by Moran definitely!

  4. Thank You for nominating me❤ It’s so cool that you are learning portuguese 😮 I think that will be the next one I want to learn after Italian :o. And I separate movies from books in Harry Potter, probably it’s the only one😂 also I really love Batman😍

  5. That’s cool that you’re learning Portugese! hahahaha oh gosh I relate a million times over to loving the LOTR book to movie adaptation, but not the hobbit book to movies- for starters, why was it movies?! hehe I like the villains too. Thank you for the tag!

    1. Obrigada! 😀 YES, why movieS, I will never get it why Jackson made such a douchebag, money driven move after doing a great job with LOTR (even though I’ll never stop shouting – Tom Bombadil dude?!?!). I mean- 3 huge books= 3 movies, 1 slim book=3 movies?!? My childhood equals ruined. Except I DID love the first movie overall, Smaug, and some parts of the 3rd movie, but I was so disappointed I wanted to cry in the cinema.

      1. AHH I SO AGREE!! The Hobbit is up there as one of my favourite books… so why did they have to ruin it with that movie?! Ah I have to agree that Smaug was awesome and I liked the first one overall too- but I was really disappointed by the end too :/

        1. Me too 😦 Sacrilegious I tell you. I think the main reason for me was (not counting the horrifying plot which I added the image of) that Hobbit was/is a cozy amazing adventure book, but the movies verge towards epic fantasy like LOTR (another gimme money move). Well there you have your money Jackson, but where is your soul? Sorry I went overboard haha, but NONE of my friends read the Hobbit, so they all liked the movies (internal screaming)

        2. Ahh I so agree with you!! Yeah you’re totally right! hahaha! Apparently he wasn’t even keen on doing it and it was supposed to be guillermo del toro making the film, but he had to pull out, so Jackson took over and he just sort of did it on the fly (no joke, I’ve seen Jackson talking about it) Oh gosh that’d infuriate me too!!!

        3. I knooow, that would be awesome, if del Toro did it, but also weird 😀 Maybe it wasn’t Jackson hungry for money but somebody sure was. And now I hear a LOTR TV show is in the works, like what the actual….
