The Narnia Book Tag

I was tagged for this by the lovely Jenna @ Bookmark Your Thoughts, whose blog you should check out if you already haven’t, because it’s awesome, and she does these amazingly cute bullet journals that I both envy and adore haha. 😀 Now, I have to admit I haven’t read The Chronicles of Narnia yet, but I did watch the movies, so I know quite a bit, but I should definitely squeeze in the series in my 2018 tbr, because I just know I’ll love them. The creator of this book tag is Clémence @ Clemi’s Bookish World. Here we go:

NARNIA

A MAGICAL WORLD YOU WOULD LIKE TO VISIT

Ummm I’ve had this question several times now, and I think it should just be changed to: “Would you like to visit Hogwarts and the Harry Potter wizarding world?” Yes, yes I would.

THE MAGICIAN’S NEPHEW

A BOOK YOU THINK IS UNDERRATED

Maybe Tell the Wolves I’m Home, by Carol Rifka Brunt. It’s a beautiful, contemporary YA novel I really, really love, and I don’t know anyone who’s read it.

THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE

A CLASSIC THAT YOU LOVE

Little Women all the way! There are more classics I love of course, but this one has a special place in my heart, and I’ve read the books countless times. I won’t read it again until I buy one of the cute editions, like the one below. I promised that to myself because my copies are ancient and tattered, and March sisters deserve a cute edition on my shelves.

THE HORSE AND HIS BOY

A BOOK YOU PICKED UP WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT IT WAS ABOUT

Huh, many! I have this nasty habit of judging the book by its cover *gasp* and I tend to disappoint myself often that way. One of the most recent novels I chose that way didn’t left me disappointed, it’s My Lady Jane, and a review is coming up real soon! Also, the title of this prompt is kind of connected with My Lady Jane haha.

PRINCE CASPIAN

A SEQUEL THAT YOU LOVE

Hmm, I love many sequels, but for this prompt I’ll choose any from The Raven Cycle series. I love that series so much, and Maggie is now one of my favorite authors!

THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER

A QUEST YOU’D LIKE TO BE A PART OF

Oh boy, now I had to quickly edit the previous prompt because I’d have the same image here. A quest to find a lost Welsh king, wake him up and ask for a favor? Count me in Gansey!

THE SILVER CHAIR

A BOOK YOU DIDN’T EXPECT TO LOVE

I don’t know why I would not expect to love a book, why would I pick it up then? Let’s do this instead: I had a small library ever since I was a kid, where I’d add any new books I would get for my birthday, etc., and then a tiny sneaky green book appeared on it one day. My mom put it there, and I couldn’t really get why, especially because it was obviously a used book, so not a present then. It stood there collecting dust for several months until I finally took it off and started reading it, and then…my life was changed forever. It was this:

I still have the same copy, on my new and much bigger shelf, and it’s one of my most prized possessions, so thanks mom, you sneaky bugger.

THE LAST BATTLE

A PERFECT END TO A SERIES YOU LOVE

Okay, so I’m really tempted to add yet another book from The Raven Cycle on the same list because that is the answer, yes, that one. But we need to spice things up here, so I’ll say Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, from that other series I keep mentioning throughout my posts. I obviously haven’t read many series, and I obviously love those two very much. Also, the ‘Last Battle’ bit kind of implies it.

THE PEVENSIES

A SIBLINGHOOD OR FRIENDSHIP YOU’D LOVE TO BE A PART OF

Ahem. Well of course it’s the Weasleys! What else could I say? Except maybe the March sisters, but that’s a repetition too. I love everything about them, except Percy, but I guess there’s a black sheep in every family. I also love the theory where Harry actually hooked up with Ginny because he desperately wanted to be a part of that family, I mean who wouldn’t? I’d hook up with Bill straight away.

EUSTACE SCRUBB

A CHARACTER WHO GREW ON YOU

Oooh there are so many, how to choose? 😥 Off the top of my head – Bilbo Baggins. 🙂 I definitely share Bilbo’s need for a comfy and quiet life, avoiding all kinds of adventures and pesky uninvited guests who eat all your food.

But when life throws me into adventurous waters, I learn to adapt and love it too, like Bilbo.

TUMNUS

YOUR FAVORITE MYSTICAL CREATURE

Hmmm. Buckbeak! Sorry. Not sorry. 🙂

CASPIAN

A CHARACTER WITH REGAL QUALITIES

…? I can only think of actual kings and queens haha, so I’ll go with Bess (Elizabeth the first), that is her depiction in My Lady Jane (I’m still under heavy influence of that book). I also love the real Queen Elizabeth and the movies with Cate Blanchett.

REEPICHEEP

A LOYAL CHARACTER

Whispers: *Gansey* No! *Ronan* No! *Adam* No! I can’t use The Raven Boys again, so I’ll go with….Dobby. Dobby the house elf is the most loyal character ever written, no matter how goofy and pushy he was at times, he made the ultimate sacrifice. While we’re at it, there is one more house elf as loyal as Dobby. Kreacher. Yes, you’ve heard that right. In case you forgot, go ahead and re-read The Deathly Hallows, specifically the chapter Kreacher’s Tale. The things that poor house elf did to protect his master and his secrets, the suffering he went through…I cry every time I read it.

  2. Great answers! I really liked My Lady Jane too and I think I might have known a little about it, but was not prepared for the hilarity of the plot and the characters anyway haha can’t wait for your review!
