Ohhh yeahhh, I was eyeing this topic for weeks, and it’s finally here! One of my biggest dreams is to literally live in books, so this is the perfect topic for me! Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, and every Tuesday there is a different themed post of top 10 things. Let’s get this party started!
1. Discworld (Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series)
Yes. I think that those of you who’ve known me for a while have expected this. Now, Discworld is a vast realm, and there are various lands in it, so it’s hard to choose where exactly I’d love to live, but I think I prefer Lancre, where the witches live, or Ankh-Morpork where there’s lots of stuff, like the Assassins’ and Thieves’ guild and the invisible university.
2. Hogwarts (Harry Potter)
Yes. You have expected this as well. I’m still waiting for my acceptance letter, so I can start learning spells and potions and charms. 😥 And I can’t wait to go to Hogsmeade! Honeydukes, Three Broomsticks and Zonko’s are the first spots I’d visit.
3. Wonderland (Alice in Wonderland)
Alice is my favorite book from childhood, which I continued loving into adulthood with a burning passion. All I want is to have the eternal tea party with the Hatter, March hare and Dormouse. And meet the other various quirky creatures, except the Queen of Hearts.
4. Neverland (Peter Pan)
Similar to the above, Peter Pan is a book I still love very much, and Neverland sounds like an awesome place to never grow up! The mermaid lagoon is where I’d go first.
5. Other World (Coraline)
This one I’m not quite sure about. Sure, I’d love an other mother, father and neighbors who are way kinder, funnier and quirkier than my own, but then again, I like my eyes without buttons sewn in them, thankyouverymuch.
6. Winterfell, Westeros (A Song of Ice and Fire)
Westeros is a dangerous place to live in lately, and as we know Winter is Coming, and I don’t really like cold, but! Winterfell looks damn cozy to curl up with a cup of tea and a good book. If no one is invading it at the moment, of course.
7. Hobbiton, Middle Earth (Lord of the Rings)
Hobbiton beats Winterfell because I don’t see any snow here. A cozy hole in the ground, a good book in my lap and some Old Toby in my pipe. Pure bliss.
8. Red London (A Darker Shade of Magic)
Victoria Schwab created a world where there are four parallel Londons in the same spot, and only the Antari, blood magic wizards, can travel from one to the other. The most appealing is definitely the red one, where magic thrives and is regularly used, which is not the case for the other three Londons.
9. Ketterdam (Six of Crows)
Ketterdam is a variant of Amsterdam, but in a magical universe created by Leigh Bardugo. It’s gloomy and dangerous and brilliant! I’d like to be a member of The Dregs and scheme all night long.
10. Asteroid B-612 (The Little Prince)
The Little Prince is one more children’s book which I still enjoy and adore. I’d love to pluck baobabs and clean volcanoes with the Prince, though I’m not sure we’d both fit in there. Especially if I bring him a sheep. 🙂
And that’s it! Which of these worlds you’d love to live in? Do you have any other favorite worlds, and which ones? Happy Tuesday and happy reading all!
The Other World and Westeros are interesting and brave choices! Though I suppose the Other World before the Other Mother turns is pretty awesome and Westeros would probably be relatively nice pre-war. I would check out Winterfell and Highgarden. Maybe Sunspear if I was feeling like I needed warmth! I keep seeing the Shades of Magic books everywhere now and really think I should check them out! Good choices, very interesting!

I know, I like dark places haha. 😀 Winterfell seems cozy to spend a winter in, reading a book next to a fireplace. 🙂 Ooh I’d go to Highgarden too, though it’s probably awfully hot there. 😀 Shades of Magic is awesome! I really liked the series. 🙂 Thanks!

Oooh, what great choices! 😀 Although there’s danger abound in most fictional worlds, it is fun to think of what it would be like to live in one. 🙂 Awesome post. It was fun reading through your answers.

Thanks! 🙂 I know, there’s danger in most of these, or just pure insanity, but I’d love to try haha. 😀

Beautiful list full of wonderful cozy places! I don’t think I’d want to live in Winterfell though, too cold for me and I’m from Canada! brrrr

Thanks Libby! Haha I’m super sensitive to cold, but with a good fireplace Winterfell seems like an excellent place to cozy up with a book and never get out! Unless Ramsay comes knocking ughhh.

Me too, I forgot to mention the food but it’s implied haha. 😀 A boring life with no adventures, just what I need. 😉
