I’ve been wanting to do this tag for ages, since I love the I Spy game, and this one is about books, yay! I’ve been waiting for ages for someone to tag me, and then two lovely girls tagged me in the same day! Norrie @ Reading Under the Blankie, and Abbie @ The Fuzzy Bookworm are the amazing bloggers who tagged me, and you should go and pay them a visit, since their blogs are amaaazing!
The challenge: Find a book that contains (either on the cover or in the title) an example for each category. You must have a separate book for all 20, get as creative as you want and do it within five minutes!*
*Of course I didn’t do it in five minutes, I wonder if anyone actually did that? Is it by sorcery?
1. Food
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl
Wow, it took me ages to remember a book with food in the title, and none of my covers feature anything edible. Chocolate counts as food if you ask me, and one of the best ones there is.
2. Transportation
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Illustrated edition) by J.K. Rowling
All three illustrated HPs I own have a vehicle on them, but I chose this one because of the blue ford anglia. ❤
3. Weapon
Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman
Okay, so technically, Thor’s hammer is a weapon. I was amazed that, as a huge fantasy lover, I don’t have any books with swords on them eh, but the hammer will do.
4. Animal
Tell the Wolves I’m Home by Carol Rifka Brunt
There aren’t any real wolves in this novel, it’s in fact a coming of age contemporary YA, so not my usual reading material, but as I’ve mentioned before, I love this novel so much, because of it’s quirkiness and sadness, and all the important matters it touches in a single story.
5. Number
The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton
Undoubtedly the best book I’ve read so far this year, Evelyn Hardcastle is a magnificent puzzle I recommend to all mystery lovers. You can read my review here.
6. Something you (can) read
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
I’ve noticed that some bloggers have answered this prompt with a book they’ve read, but others took this as something you can read, like a book, manuscript, magazine, etc., and the latter had more sense to me in a challenge like this, so obviously I chose The Book Thief, a novel I love very much, and I added the (can), so you can ignore that if you want.
7. Body of water
Haroun and the Sea of Stories by Salman Rushdie
This one was hard too, as none of my covers feature water, not the ones I’ve read at least, so I managed to pluck this one out from my goodreads read list.
8. Product of fire
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling
Hmm, there’s no fire, smoke or ash on my covers either, so I had to go with another HP hehe, they’re always useful. 🙂
9. Royalty
A Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin
The second novel in The Song of Ice and Fire series seemed like a perfect fit for this prompt, what with the crown and the kings.
10. Architecture
I have many buildings and bridges and stuff on my covers, but I love this one best, and I had to put the Serbian edition of it, which I actually own, as it’s the only one showing the actual house.
11. Clothing Item
Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman
Does a boot count? I mean, all people on my covers are clothed (thank god), but it seemed too easy, and none of my titles say “The dress I wore that summer in Paris” and such, as I don’t read that kind of books, so a witch’s boot is my choice. It could have been a helmet, but that’s armor.
12. Family Member
We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson
I’m still under the impression of this creepy little book (review coming soon), so I had to use it, as the front depicts two (creepy) sisters.
13. Time of day
The Beginning of the World in the Middle of the Night by Jen Campbell
This one was an easy choice, as it was the only one I could find haha, and coincidentally, it’s the first review I’ve ever written on my blog, you can read it here.
14. Music
I had to use a Pratchett, duh! This isn’t one of my favorites in the series, but it’s the one where Death discovers music, and it’s the Music With Rocks In.
15. Paranormal being
You’d think that as a huge fan of all things paranormal I’d have countless books with vampires and ghosts on it, but this is the only one. I didn’t count dragons, as they’re mythical beings, and I don’t think witches would fit either. 🤔
16. Occupation
The Plastic Magician by Charlie N. Holmberg
Not many occupations on my shelves either, unless you count weird ones like this haha. My review of this novel can be read here.
17. Season
Drums of Autumn by Diana Gabaldon
You knew I was going to use an Outlander novel hahaha, but seriously this is the only one I have that concerns a season.
18. Color
Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater
I had numerous choices here, but I decided to include Mags the queen. Blue is actually a name here, but it’s also a color, sooo.
19. Celestial body
West of the Moon by Margi Preus
No suns and planets on my covers, only full moons, and one of them is on the book I love very, very much. ❤️
20. Something that grows
Through the Woods by Emily Carroll
I’m not that rich on plants either, but my favorite graphic novel of all time has woods both on the cover and in the title, and woods are composed of trees…that grow. If you’re looking for scary stories with gorgeous and grotesque illustrations, this is the one for you.
This was…fun? I spent several hours browsing through my library and my GR list, and the latter was boring, but I do like the end result. 😊
Hey Kara, Amalia, Gerry, Cat, María, Ignited Moth lady, wanna do it? Anyone else? Feel free to do it, it takes time but it’s fun! 🙂
Thank You so much for tagging me Marina ❤ and the cover for We have always lived in the castle has me so interested in it haha

Ooh, thank you for the tag! ❤ Looks like fun. 😀
I was really excited to see you mentioned (and had a review) for The Plastic Magician. I went on a mini shopping spree on my kindle earlier today and saw The Paper Magician listed on sale so I decided to give it a go and bought it. Not sure when I'll wind up actually reading it, but it sounded interesting. 🙂

Anytime! 🙂 Cool, The Paper Magician has a really interesting concept, but it’s light and fun reading, nothing mind-blowing. I liked second part more. 🙂 Hope you like it!

You picked such lovely covers, Marina! I chose the same one for transportation, I just love the illustrated HP covers. And Norse Mythology’s cover is so gorgeous, I really need to read this book soon.
Wonderful post! ❤

Yay 🙂 Loved your books!
You just reminded me of the paper magician series! I read the first book maybe two years ago. It was pretty cool! Love her writing style and the idea of paper magic was really interesting. One of those series i’m going to continue.
Through the woods has an adorable cover ❤

Thanks Norrie! 🙂 Hmm the other two books in the series are better if I remember right. 🙂 This one was better written, but the original trilogy is more fun. 🙂 Through the woods is creepy as hell haha. 😀
