Books I’ll Probably Never Read Tag

I was tagged for this by the amazing Orangutan Librarian months ago (sorry), and I’m finally getting to my old tags! In case you somehow managed to miss her blog, I suggest you go and check it out immediately because it’s filled with great content! Anyhow, let’s get to it:

A Really Hyped Book You’re Not Interested in Reading?

11870085

Nah. I don’t think I’ll ever read anything by John Green. I don’t like any of the premises even though I love YA, and a million people love his books.

A Series You Won’t Start/Won’t Be Finishing?

Nope. Nope. Nope.

A Classic That You’re Just Not Interested In?

Nope. There are more, mainly by Russian writers – we just don’t click.

Any Genres You’ve Never Read?

Romance, including chick-lit and erotica. I do love well written romance in fantasy and historical fiction, but books revolving solely about romance make me barf.

A Book On Your Shelves You’ll Probably Never Actually Read?

I am not that kind of person. 😛 I do have 2 books I dnf’ed, but I plan to give them another shot – I did buy them. 🙂

So that’s it, these novels are cursed in my book and I won’t touch them. I have plenty good ones to look forward to to waste my time! Do you guys have any books you’ll never ever read? I’m a bit tired of tagging and spamming people because I always tag the same ones, so everyone who wants to do this – write yay in the comments! *crickets*

    1. I know, this might sound weird but I only like the utterly tragic or like the epic proportion greatest loves stories, but only in movies/TV shows, in novels it needs to be a secondary genre to something I really like. :/

Haha well let me know your thoughts when/if you read it, I might be wrong and missing out on something amazing. 😀

Haha this is the second time I’m like “what’s up with the yays”, idiot. xD Can’t wait to read yours! 🙂

  1. I’ve read all three of your romance books and I liked them all. lol. But I can totally see why it doesn’t appeal to some people. I found that A Court of Thorns and Roses was hella better than her Throne of Glass series. I’ve only read the first book but it was just a million times better.
    Great post!

    1. Hahaha I know a lot of people like these and that’s cool, but I just can’t stomach romance, in movies too except a few special ones. 🙂 I don’t know about ACOTAR, it just doesn’t appeal to me, but who knows, I might run out of books to read one day and give it a chance, it’s happened before. 🙂 Thanks! 🙂

  2. Great list! I’ve read the fault in our stars and can’t recommend it at all. Lots of pretentious bullshit in my opinion :p. Can I ask you why you didn’t finish the pigeon? I liked perfume and an curious to hear about his other books

    1. Thanks Bella! Haha that just proves my point. 😀 Well I got kind of bored with The Pigeon and left it halfway to read other books and then I lost track. Though that was in high school, so I might give it another chance, it’s still on my shelf. 🙂 Perfume is one of my all time favorite novels, so maybe my expectations were too high. :/

  3. I agree with so many! I have never read a John Green and nothing about them appeals. You know my thoughts on Sarah J Maas books and some of those historic classics are just *massive* and so get a massive nope from me. I do like a bit of romance though!

I adore The Miniaturist and was eyeing up The Muse but I wondered if it suffered from second book syndrome.

    1. Weee 🙂 I like that we dislike the same books, that’s a special kind of bookish friendship. 😛 I know you do, you smutty woman. 😉 I like it in movies but just can’t with books, don’t know why. :/

Me too, and perhaps that’s why my expectations were too high. :/ I will read it though, one day!

  4. The Muse is definitely in my TBR as well. I LOVED The Miniaturist and I have heard mixed things about this one. You mentioning it makes me want to put more effort into reading it. Why did you DNF The Muse?

    1. I bought The Muse exactly because I adore The Miniaturist! And the gorgeous cover helped! I dnf’ed because I expected something like The Miniaturist, magical realism and such, maybe my expectations were too high, and halfway through I was bored and started reading other books, and then it was too late to continue The Muse bcs I forgot a lot of it. 😬

  5. oh, there are a ton of super hyped fantasy books out right now that i’ll probably never read. honestly, i can kind of tell by the way they are hyped that they are either not for me, or that i’ve already read this same story ten times. I recently did a book cull, I went through my bookshelves and asked myself “do I see myself reading this book in the next 5 years?” if i answered no, the book went in the donation box. really, it was just to make room for more books on the shelves!
