Round Up

Round-up: Here we go again!

Readers, bloggers, friends, I am back! Yet again.. But this time, and from now on, I’ll stop apologizing and putting myself on the pillar of shame, because while I DO love blogging, I’ve come to realize a stupidly simple thing – we’re all human, and sometimes we just can’t. That’s it! Now, onto what I was doing for the past three months, and what’s coming on my blog in the near future!

P.S. I’ve missed every single one of you, and you’re too many to tag, but I’ll do a round of blog-hopping fairly soon and see for myself what you guys have been up to. ❤

What was

A lot. Quite a lot actually, hence my unplanned hiatus. October-December period is always a hectic one for me, because of several important birthdays, including mine, the holidays, and tons of work generated by the holidays. Now, this year, in addition to all that, I had a very stressful but necessary move happen on December 1st. I’m still getting used to the new apartment (Lyra the cat is too.), but I realize this is the best decision I’ve made in years. It benefits me in tons of ways, but most importantly mental-health-wise.

Further on, I participated in Inktober over on Instagram, and in several buddy reads, all at the same time, and the obligation of it all put me down a lot and had thrown me into a mega slump. In the last few months of 2019 I’d barely read anything, and things seemed to be getting worse, BUT! Just on a whim, I picked up the long overdue The Turn of the Key, by Ruth Ware, and it did wonders. Since the start of this month (And year) I’ve read four of her books, I’m currently finishing the last one, and I’m finishing yet another different book. The change of the genre did wonders! I will get back to fantasy of course, but I’ve decided just to read what feels right in the moment, so I won’t be making any more TBR’s. It will lessen the pressure and open up new views, I’m sure. 🙂

No more TBR’s lol

These are the books I’ve read since my last post:

And more:

I looks like a lot, but this is the last three months, yikes. Non-reading related, I haven’t been watching anything either, I’ve mostly been listening various podcasts, mostly my favorite one – My Favorite Murder. If you love true crime and comedy, then take a listen!(?)

I have also decided to learn how to crochet, and have bought all the materials, but more about that some other time. 🙂

What is

Well, I’m restarting my blog, obviously, but I’m also rebranding my Instagram from a personal one to a bookstagram one, finally. I’ll be more active there, and hopefully if you guys follow me here you’ll follow me there too and help me out in starting this thing off. 🙂 No pressure though!

I’m sitting on a few cool ARCs, and I’ll continue to for some time, because I’m afraid of ruining my reading streak, but there are some good onesss *deep breathing*

What will be

Since I’ve been away for quite a while, due reviews have piled on, so I’ll be posting a lot of those in the near future, neatly spread out of course. You can expect quite a few Ruth Ware mysteries, a review of Vicious by V.E.Schwab, some middle grade novels, graphic novels, and a few more interesting reviews. Basically, those pictured above haha.

I’ll also do a 2019 best of, however sparse it’ll be, then the usual Aesthetic for the last Saturday of the month, I’ll continue with the Music Monday and TTT, and I plan to do a 6-day read-a-thon of Locke & Key graphic novels ahead of the Netflix premiere of the show on February 7th. I will do this from February 1st through 6th, and if anyone wants to join me please let me know in the comments! 🙂 This will be a re-read for me, but I’d love to have company regardless if you’ve read the novels before or not. I plan to do reviews for volumes 3-6, since I didn’t on my first read-through, and I’ll add some comments of what I expect in the TV version, and I’ll possibly do a joint re-review (???) of volumes 1-2, just to keep things flowing.

*deep erratic breathing*

So yup, that’s it, not much, I know, but I’m preparing some cool posts for the next few weeks and hopefully I’ll be much more active in the next couple of months but no promises lol. How are you guys, what have you been doing and reading? Let me know in the comments and have a great Sunday! ❤

  1. Welcome back! I missed your posts, but I understand how important mental health is. Locke & Key looks super interesting. I’d love to join you, but I already have a lot to read and write, unfortunately. I just started book blogging a couple months ago. Took me so long to realize that I’d rather be reviewing books than writing them, lol! At least for now. 😉
