Hello dear readers! It’s Tuesday, so it’s time for another TTT! This week’s topic is a freebie, which I love, because I can add my own spin to it. This one is dedicated to book covers though, so not much to spin there, at least for me, so I decided to do the most obvious thing and present you with 10 most beautiful covers I own. I know, but, well. Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, and every Tuesday there is a different themed post of top 10 things.
You’ve probably seen all of these covers throughout my earlier posts, you may not like some of these, but this is my personal choice.
I love this cover because of the beautiful illustration, and I really like the banners behind the title. All covers in this series are illustrated by the same artist and all are equally whimsical. This series is one of my ultimate favorites, and you can read my review of the first book here.
This cover is more gorgeous irl, and not just it, but also the specially textured paper, and the golden ribbon marker, and the cloth-bound cover beneath this dust jacket *sounds of drooling*. Definitely one of my favorite owned books, both physically and emotionally. You can find my review of the first novel in this trilogy here.
My favorite graphic novel of all time has the same image on the cover and on the textured dust jacket, but I don’t mind, it’s gorgeous and I love it. If you haven’t yet, read this amazing collection of illustrated short horror stories ASAP.
Since Poe is one of my favorite writers, naturally I had to wait and save until I could get the ultimate edition of his collected work, and for me it is this. Barnes & Noble leather-bound classic with silver sprayed edges and a red ribbon. It doesn’t have any illustrations besides the flyleaves but it is my treasure.
Once I heard this book is good, I decided to buy it, but instead of the regular cover design with the pretty lady photo + huge fonts, I fell in love with this comical illustration. To my horror, what has now become one of my favorite book of ALL times, was the only one printed by this publisher. So parts 2 and 3 will never ever ever have matching covers to this one. *faints* I have to have matching covers because of my bookish OCD, so now I have to get the other version too.
This little book is just adorable. It’s small, it has these cute illustrations outside and inside, and gold foil and texture. *shivers* I’m so glad I bought it and can’t wait to read and review it!
Another one of my favorite writers also deserved a Barnes & Noble leather-bound edition on my shelf, this one with gold sprayed edges and a gold ribbon. It also has no illustrations, so I compensated by buying a similar Serbian edition which has tons.
I’m a sucker for pretty fonts, and the embroidery-like line illustrations, and this cover has both, the sequels too. It looks much prettier live, and I can’t wait to complete my collection. You can read my review of the first book here.
Out of all the beautiful covers done for this trilogy, I have to say I love the Serbian editions the most. Not just because they’re truly pretty, but also because all three were done by three Serbian illustrators and I’m really proud *tears*.
You know I HAD to include one of these, right? This one is the latest so I’m still quite in love with it, and I just know that once I complete this collection, it will be something to treasure for years to come.
And that’s that, some of my favorite covers of the physical books I have on my shelves. I’m sure I’ll buy many, many more, and build a glorious library for
all me to behold and treasure *forever*. Um, so what are your favorite covers? Let me know in the comments below, and tell me if you like the adorning details like pretty flyleaves and silky ribbons as much as I do. Have a beautiful week everyone!
